龟兔赛跑 The Tortoise and the Hare Race

zài hěn jiǔ yǐ qián ， wū guī yǔ tù zi zhī jiān fā shēng le zhēng lùn ， tā mén dōu shuō zì jǐ pǎo dé bǐ duì fāng kuài 。

在很久以前，乌龟与兔子之间发生了争论，它们都说自己跑得比对方快。

A long time ago, there was a dispute between the tortoise and the hare, each claiming to be faster than the other.

yú shì ， tā mén jué dìng tōng guò bǐ sài lái yī jué cí xióng 。 què dìng le lù xiàn zhī hòu tā mén jiù kāi shǐ pǎo le qǐ lái 。

于是，它们决定通过比赛来一决雌雄。确定了路线之后它们就开始跑了起来。

To settle the argument, they decided to have a race. Once the route was determined, they began the race.

 tù zi yí gè jiàn bù chōng dào le qián miàn ， bìng qiě yī lù lǐng xiān 。

兔子一个箭步冲到了前面，并且一路领先。

The hare quickly surged ahead, maintaining a lead throughout the race.

 tā kàn dào wū guī bèi yuǎn yuǎn pāo zài le hòu miàn ， tù zi jué de ， zì jǐ yīng gāi xiān zài shù xià xiū xī yī huì er 。

它看到乌龟被远远抛在了后面，兔子觉得，自己应该先在树下休息一会儿。

 Seeing the tortoise far behind, the hare thought it could afford to take a rest under a tree.

yú shì ， tā zài shù xià zuò le xià lái ， bìng qiě hěn kuài shuì zháo le 。

于是，它在树下坐了下来，并且很快睡着了。

It sat down and soon fell asleep.

wū guī màn màn dì chāo guò le tā ， bìng qiě wán chéng le zhěng gè sài chéng ， wú kě zhēng biàn dì dāng shàng le guàn jūn 。

乌龟慢慢地超过了它，并且完成了整个赛程，无可争辩地当上了冠军。

Meanwhile, the tortoise steadily overtook the hare and successfully completed the entire course, indisputably becoming the champion.

  hòu lái ， tù zi xǐng le guò lái ， fā xiàn zì jǐ shū le 。

后来，兔子醒了过来，发现自己输了。

Later, the hare woke up, only to realize it had lost the race.
